Our client based in London requires a temporary Records and Information Management Officer to help with cover for Freedom of Information and Data Protection Legislation (DPA & GDPR) as well as support day-to-day Information Management activities such as managing records and storage. The assistance with an Accommodation Project and Data Centre move working out how to deal with current and future storage.

The role will involve:

· Supporting day-to-day information management activities, including managing semi-current records held in the records store or in offsite storage, and liaising with business areas to ensure timely destruction or transfer to The National Archives in line with agreed retention requirements.

· Supporting an Accommodation Project and Data Centre Move including working on dealing with current and future storage.

· Providing routine advice and support staff on records and information management matters, including information security awareness, and contributing to R&IM projects.

· Supporting our clients compliance with FOI legislation - acknowledging and logging requests; liaising with relevant business areas to establish whether the information is held and can be provided; preparing draft responses, and agreeing amendments on the basis of comments contributed during the review process.

· Maintaining registers of FOI requests and preparing regular reports on request volumes and outcomes.

· Assisting other team members as necessary.

· Accommodation and Data Centre move including how to deal with current and future storage.

· Extensive experience within an information and records management role is essential, with experience of managing both digital and paper records offsite and onsite.

· Experience of records management and information lifecycle creation, storage, security, retention and destruction of documents and records applied across legacy systems and new IT systems.

· Some experience of case work or customer correspondence would be helpful, but not essential.

· Experience of accommodation / office moves is essential.

· Experience of Data Centre move and how to deal with current and future storage is essential.

Knowledge

· An excellent understanding of information management concepts (records lifecycle; retention scheduling; protective markings, etc.).

· Understanding of Freedom of Information and Data Protection legislation.
