A manufacturing leading technology protection who relays medium voltage circuit breakers often for highly critical electrical power systems across a global client base are seeking a Senior Switchgear Design Engineer to join their team in Manchester offering a salary of £40,000 - £50,000. As a Senior Switchgear Design Engineer you will:Take a lead role in design.Manage the engineering team.Be active in discovering and investigating new manufacturing processes and techniques.Interpret client requirements into functional cost-effective designs.Liaise from design through to inhouse fabrication. The ideal Senior Switchgear Design Engineer will have the following:
Experience with spring charged and magnetic actuator mechanisms and interlocking.TruTops Software for sheet metal punch nesting.Experience of IEC62271 and ENA TS41-36 standards. HNC / HND with relevant experience or BSc / BEng Electrical / Mechanical Graduate.Experience of designing within Solidworks to produce unambiguous manufacturing and assembly drawings. Familiarity of type testing switchgear including dielectric, short circuit, pd and mechanical endurance requirements. This is an excellent role for an experienced Mechanical or Electrical Engineer familiar with sheet metal work from a switchgear background willing to undertake an end to end approach, concept through to productionYou will be working 37.5 hours per week for a long established and growing company that can offer the right candidate good personal and career development with 25 days holiday and a pension scheme.
