An opportunity for a Lead Systems Engineer to be based in Chippenham to support the delivery of its Trials and Experimentation portfolio.  The role is for a system engineer with excellent subject matter expertise in the planning, design and deployment of: radio networks, IP networks, secure communications systems, tactical applications.

You will bring to the team your considerable knowledge in planning, design and deployment of network infrastructure equipment including networks, radios and system management functions.  Setup and configuration of bearer systems including radios, antennas, cabling, and power supplies.

On a typical day the role will involve working within a multi-disciplined engineering team to deliver outputs that meet both internal and external customer needs to defined quality standards within agreed timescales and budgets. You will be responsible; for understanding and addressing key customer and business stakeholder requirements and needs, planning, training, and supplier and partner relations.

Your responsibilities will cover the breadth and depth of competence in System, Trials and Experimentation.

Analysing trial and demonstration requirements - designing and implementing experimental activities

Setup, configuration, deployment, management and field support of secure communications systems

Planning and support of field and laboratory trials and demonstrations to end users, internal and external stakeholders

Analyse and debug setup, configuration and integration issues on target hardware

Undertaking and supporting product and integration and acceptance activities

Ability to generate well-structured technical documents
