Senior full stack developer - Python

This senior post holder will be responsible for taking discoveries made by doctors and scientists within the Research Environment and connecting them back to the clinic and, ultimately the affected families. It is an exciting opportunity to develop new tools and pipelines and to understand and utilise the existing interpretation products and services. The post holder is an experienced full stack developer responsible for creating web applications and utilising software engineering skills to develop tools for interpretation.

Essential SkillsProven track record of developing high quality applications/systems with web servicesExperience of working on greenfield projectsSolid experience of Python, React and ReduxGood knowledge of and experience working with DjangoCompetent at assigning APIs, and working with RESTful APIsExperienced with distributed systemsSolid exposure to Linux, Git, Postgres (or similar)Proficiency in collaborative development tools such as Github, Confluence and JIRAA demonstrable ability to cope under pressure and deliver to deadlinesAbility to communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary teamStrong work ethic and enthusiasm for developing tools to support Dna medicineFlexible and co-operative approach to colleaguesAbility to work independently and to show initiative within a teamAbility to prioritise and balance competing demands.Good knowledge of working in Agile environments and of Agile development methods and tools.Produce high quality code

Desirable ExperienceJava and exposure to HTML, MongoDB JavaScript and CSSKnowledge of other Python tools and frameworks such as Flask and MongoDB.Experience in AWS developmentExperience of working in Agile environments and of Agile development methods and tools.
