A leading UK-based engineering manufacturing organisation is looking for a time-served machinist / fitter for the role of Industrial Engineer to join its team in West Cumbria. In addition to a negotiable salary you will also receive 35 days holiday and a contributory pension 6% ER & EE. This position gives you an opportunity to develop your skills and career with this forward-thinking company.As the Industrial Engineer your responsibilities will include:Determining the method and processes used for work to be manufactured within the facility.Ensuring all technical / planning solutions consider health and safety, and environmental requirements.Providing assistance to the commercial team, including key technical capability and capacity, along with labour required.Translating project drawings into workshop planning - ensuring quality standards.Liaising with the planning team to review manufacturing schedules and agree efficient process routes.Working with project management to evaluate and breakdown project budgets into manageable targets.Analysing data to compare budget / actual hours and technical content and therefore evaluating performance.Initiating systems / process improvement plans to ensure cost effective manufacturing methods.Some 3D modelling work to produce stage build production diagrams. Time-served machinist / fitter - an ‘authority’ on machining / assembly.Heavy engineering environment experience.Project manufacturing experience.Further education in engineering.Experience of carbon, stainless and non-ferrous material manufacturing methods in machining. In return, the time-served machinist / fitter will receive a salary of £32,000 - £34,000 pa which is negotiable depending on experience.
