Design and Quality Engineer-Manufacturing Sector £25-30K plus pension, 38 hour week, 23 days holiday and free parking Birmingham, Midlands-Commutable from Walsall, West Bromwich, Tamworth, Wolverhampton, Halesowen, Dudley, Lichfield, Cannock Are you an experienced Design Engineer with excellent all round manufacturing knowledge (including quality engineering) looking for a challenging and exciting position with a client facing organisation? The client is expanding into exciting new markets and have traditionally had very low staff turnover, always a good sign of a well-run company. The position will be to interpret and understand client requirements, then design the solutions. These are primarily fibre telecoms cabinet and data rack layouts. It will also include an element of quality engineering such as PFMEA and ISIR. Therefore it would suit a good all-round manufacturing mechanical engineer who also has a sound understanding of electrical/electronic engineering, or a graduate/HND Mechanical Engineer with a couple of years working experience. Tasks will include: Speak to customers in order to understand requirements and manage expectations (10% of the role)Design cabinet and data rack components using Solidworks (70% of the role)Quality engineering tasks such as Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis and Initial Sample Inspection Reports (20% of the role) To apply you should have: A good, varied academic and/or working background with manufacturing, including a sound understanding of both Mechanical and Electrical EngineeringExperience of 3D CAD designKnowledge of quality engineering particularly ISO 9001, PFMEA and ISIR This superb opportunity to join a company on the upward curveTo apply for this position please email your CV to Nick SmithPension, 38 hour week, 23 days holiday and free parking
