Our incident response team's purpose is to minimise and control the damage resulting from cybersecurity incidents, ensuring that the appropriate incident management and response controls are in place and operating as required in order to enable the identification, protection, detection, response and recovery of Royal London Groups information assets.

We are currently looking to recruit an Incident Response Manager to join our security team on a permanent basis based in either Edinburgh or Wilmslow. The role will take accountability for the day to day operation of the Defence function, leading a team of incident responders to minimise and control the damage resulting from cybersecurity incidents.

Key Accountabilities

The role is directly responsible for the people management of the Cyber Defence team

Developing the skills within the team to ensure expertise are in place to lead the response to a cybersecurity event or incident, taking steps to contain the threat to the Royal London business and support the remediation activities to stabilise service.

Control the damage resulting from cybersecurity incidents

Containing the threat to the Royal London business and support the remediation activities to stabilise service.

Ensuring all security events are investigated and tracked within SLA's

Assist in the development of use cases and security maturity

Recommending dashboard improvements for MI reporting

Working closely with the defence & threat intelligence teams for SOC monitoring

Skills and Experience

Experience managing a technical team of security engineers previously

Experience providing security enhancement and service improvements

Supporting with continuous threat hunting support, providing industry best techniques & tooling support

Supporting with regular risk reporting, demonstrating effective risk management

Essential Criteria

Ability to lead a team of Cyber Security professionals

Demonstrable leadership experience and accreditation in incident response activities

Holder (or currently working towards) a Security qualifications essential  e.g. CISSP, CISM, GIAC, GSEC, GCIH, or equivalent

Knowledge of perimeter and host security intrusion techniques

Familiar with vulnerability management and application security technologies

Familiar with audit event collection and reporting toolsets

Excellent communication, both written and verbal

Comfortable liaising with non-technical stakeholders, providing technical support and understanding to colleagues

Desirable Criteria

Previous experience of working within a regulated environment.

Experience managing a technical security team previously

Knowledge of the mitre att&ck framework would be highly advantageous

Analytical and methodical approach to technical challenges
