A Cyber Security System Analyst is required for our public sector client based in Exeter, for an initial 12 month contract. BackgroundOur client is undertaking a two-year programme to maintain the level of cyber security that they require and that their customers expect. Job Purpose To work with change activities to enable our client to achieve and maintain the appropriate level of information assurance to meet legal, regulatory and customer requirements. ResponsibilitiesWork with Service Managers, Technical Team Leads, Architects and IAOs to gather the information needed to threat assess legacy systems.To analyse systems information and produce Threat Assessment Reports on risks which could impact the client together with pragmatic recommendations.To work with other governance functions to improve information risk advice and methodologies.To provide pragmatic advice and guidance to change activities to enable them to achieve and maintain the appropriate level of information assurance.To keep up-to-date with all aspects of Information Assurance and carry out reviews of how these could be used. Essential Qualifications, Skills & AbilitiesSound understanding of system architectures. Able to understand the risk impact of vulnerabilities on existing designs and systems and identify how easy or difficult it will be to exploit these vulnerabilities.Understands security concepts to engage with IT and Security technologists and communicate in a language that is appropriate to the audience.Security review, analysis and data gathering working experience.Detailed working background in IT with demonstrable experience resulting in a working-level of understanding of the application of Information Assurance principles within a diverse business environment.Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to inspire inform engage and influence at all levels of the organisation. Able to visualise, articulate and understand complex problems and work effectively with others to provide pragmatic viable security solutions. DesirableA relevant degree or Information Assurance professional qualification e.g. CISSP, Certified Professional (CCP)Demonstrable working knowledge of the requirements of an Information Security Management System as specified in the ISO27001 standard and the recognised security controls as documented in the ISO27002 standard.Demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development
