Secure the intelligence that brings the most dangerous criminals to justice.

Human traffickers, firearms and drugs dealers, cybercriminals and exploiters of children - at the NCA, we work at the cutting-edge of law enforcement, tackling those posing the most serious threat to UK life.

Now, more than ever, serious and organised criminals are finding new and more ruthless ways to prey on vulnerable people and the wider public. And as the crime landscape continues to evolve, so do we. Our teams work creatively and collaboratively to find new and unexpected ways to stay ahead. Join them and your work will have a serious impact as you help us protect millions of people across the UK.

Your role

As a Digital Covert Logistics Officer, you'll provide crucial support on a wide range of NCA operations and projects. Your work will not only help us collect the covert intelligence needed to tackle serious crime, but will innovate the way we collect it.

Working as a tactical advisor across our backstopping functions, you'll maintain covert premises, assets and equipment while developing our capabilities, building an in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and strong working relationships with our internal and external partners.

You may also be expected to work directly or indirectly in tackling child sexual exploitation and abuse. This may involve exposure to child sexual abuse images and material, so please consider the sensitive nature of our work before deciding to apply.

Your background

You'll have proven experience in a technical or creative digital environment, including digital risk management and open source research in support of investigations. You may also have experience in networking, digital security, scripting or virtual machines. Experience in Adobe Photoshop and web development (e.g. html5) are desirable, along with skills in visual effect software and any relevant qualifications (e.g. Cover Operative, CHIS Handler, UKPPS Officer or PIP 1).

We're also looking for people who are strong communicators with a collaborative mindset. You'll be flexible and open to new ideas, able to constantly change and improve your ways of working while making effective decisions.

Rewards

We take your career and development seriously and want to help you build a truly successful career with us and the wider Civil Service. So, we'll make sure you receive the right training, guidance and coaching as well as regular performance and development reviews. What's more, as a Civil Service employee you're also entitled to a large range of benefits, including generous annual leave, flexible working, a contributory pension, staff bonuses and recognition, volunteering days, childcare vouchers and other salary sacrifice options, and an employee discount scheme.

The breadth of our capabilities means there's no such thing as a typical NCA officer. We recruit people from virtually every walk of life, from police to project management, crime analysis and commercial procurement. Join us and we'll give you the powers, time and resources to see cases through, as well as high-profile experience to add to your record. On top of this, you'll get to work at the heart of law enforcement response and deal with the biggest threats to national security.
