Lead the Technology revolution of our roads

We are looking for Director level IT Business Partners in the following areas:

Asset Management

There are two IT BP roles in Major Projects and Complex Infrastructure Programme. This requires experience in devising and delivering technology solutions within large infrastructure projects in Construction or the built environment representing the interests of Highways England in all technology build discussions.

Operations

This role will be focused on technology usage and development in control rooms and network operations. Experience of working in critical services, call centres with a focus on the external customer experience is highly desirable.

Corporate Services and Customer

This role focuses on internal customers and stakeholder experience. The requires a more forward-looking approach to deliver long term organisation strategy across corporate systems such as HR and Finance. You'll need experience in these areas to work effectively at this level of the organisation.

Your Skills

You are an IT leader with expert technological understanding within your industry

You can manage up, being able to push back when needed and work towards an overarching goal

You can translate business strategies into technical requirements and deliver what is needed to ensure the business has the right technology to deliver against its ambitions

You will lead on projects to design and develop new (and changes to) existing services

You are an inclusive leader, who can and foster a culture of recognising and developing diverse skills and talents

Working with Executive Leads, you will be able to create and support budgetary plans for IT expenditure for strategic and tactical investments

Highways England is the government company charged with operating, maintaining and improving England's motorways and major A roads totally around 4,300 miles. Whilst this represents 2% of the roads in England by length, these roads carry a third of all traffic by mileage and two thirds of all heavy goods traffic. Formerly the Highways Agency, we became a government company in April 2015.
