Excellent opportunity on offer for a project buyer to join a successful manufacturer, who throughout this period have thrived due to increased sales and strength of their customer base.Do you have strong negotiation skills? Do you have experience within an engineering environment?Established over 30 years ago, this company manufacture bespoke capital equipment. They are financially backed by a global group; therefore, they can focus heavily on delivering nothing less than excellent quality to all their clients. Due to increased demand for their services they require an additional technical project buyer to play a senior/lead role within their purchasing team.As part of a small purchasing team this role boasts lots of responsibility and variety; you will manage maintain and strengthen the supply chain. You will be researching and developing prospective suppliers, including materials, subcontract machining and high value capital equipment. You will liaise with internal departments and the suppliers, to ensure strong supplier performance and relationships are maintained. You will spearhead strategic planning with suppliers considering product development and cost reduction plans.This is a fantastic opportunity where you will be a big cog in a small wheel, playing a key role in the company's future success. The Role

* Project Technical Buyer - Subcontract Engineering

* Building Strong relationships and negotiating well with internal customers and external suppliers

* Maintaining good quality products throughout the supply chain.

* Strategic planning

* Supporting the company on continuous improvement plans and initiatives

* £40'000 - £45,000 + Industry Training, Development, Progression to Purchasing Manager, Bonus and Excellent BenefitsThe Person

* Has a background in Project Purchasing

* Has worked in an engineering/sub-contracting environment

* Can understand technical drawings

* Strong personality with excellent negotiation skills

* Looking for more responsibility with the chance to lead a purchasing team.
