Software Engineering Team Lead Leeds to £100k

Software Engineering Team Lead (Java Spring microservices) *Remote Interview WFH*. Would you like the opportunity to build a team and work on complex and interesting cloud based SaaS banking applications that are helping to disrupt UK consumer banking and bring technology enabled change that effects people's everyday lives?

You could be joining a fast growing FinTech solutions provider as they establish the office in Leeds and working with a range of finance and software engineering experts to bring products to market. As a Software Engineering Team Lead you'll help recruit and build a team of first class Java Developers for the core banking application; a complex AWS based solution.

You will be responsible for low level design, architecture of microservices and interaction of the microservice with third parties, Cloud, platform or other microservices with a focus on scalability and availability as the client base grows at a rapid pace. You'll guide your team to successful delivery, setting the standards for best practice, ensuring that code quality is paramount and mentoring both junior and senior developers; liaising with other Software Engineering Team Leads and counterparts in the London office to ensure a consistent approach and maximum reuse of automated processes.

You'll be based in in Central Leeds in a highly motivated team atmosphere with flexible working opportunities (2-3 days a week work from home; 100% during social distancing measures including remote interview and onboarding).

Requirements:

You have a wealth of software engineering experience with Java, Spring, RESTful APIs, SQL, Cloud (AWS), Docker, CI/CD and microservices environments

You're experienced in leading the software development lifecycle, driving best practice, managing software development teams and mentoring

You're a strong advocate of Agile methodologies e.g. Scrum, TDD, BDD

You have excellent written and verbal communication skills - can produce detailed technical specifications and communicate confidently with senior stakeholders across the business
