Senior Java Developer / Technical Architect London to £160k *Remote Interview WFH*

Senior Java Developer / Technical Architect (JVM Cloud microservices). Are you a Senior Java Developer looking to remain hands-on, working on complex and interesting systems that are helping to change the world we live in?

As a Senior Java Developer / Technical Architect you will provide technical leadership and remain hands-on producing both detailed technical work and high level architectural design; you'll evangelise best practice and utilise your experience with cutting edge technologies and distributed, scalable systems to steer the technical direction of the team, defining team wide engineering best practices and mechanisms to measure the adoption of them.

The platform is built in Java on AWS infrastructure with AWS services and Open Source frameworks using LESS (Large Scale Scrum) methodology for delivery; you will have oversight and liaise directly with clients to drive architectural conversations and the company's leadership team to set aggressive goals and targets to help shape the longer term business strategy.

Driven by technology this company is able to conduct a remote interview and onboarding process during the current social distancing measures; and offers flexible working going forward (2-3 days a week work from home).

Requirements:

Indepth knowledge of core Java and Spring frameworks (SpringBoot, Spring Security)

Strong knowledge of AWS

Experience in helping leading development life cycle process, best practices and operating distributed cloud-based microservices; keen to take on a technical leadership role with experience of mentoring other engineers

Database experience e.g. SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL

Ideally you will have experience with Kafka, Hadoop, Spark or other Big Data streaming technologies

Familiar with DevOps environments / Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)

Experience of Continuous Integration e.g. SonarQube, Maven, Gradle and Jenkins

Advocate of Agile development methodologies, ideally familiar with LESS

Excellent communication skills; collaborative and personable yet able to push back and be assertive when required
