The UKTV technology team are located in Leeds and at our HQ in Hammersmith, London. The development team are located in Leeds.

Purpose of the role

We are looking for a DevOps engineer who is passionate about deploying and maintaining scalable, highly available application solutions that leverage AWS services for Broadcast Media applications:

Core support team member working with colleagues in development and operations.

DevOps orientated knowledge covering design patterns and programming best practices

Platforms build, maintained and supported using infrastructure as code, continuous integration, automated testing and automated deployment

In this role you will get to...

You will have the opportunity to be in at the start as UKTV launch a new strategically important cloud platform driving core business activities. The business has deployed a new code pipeline, developed from the ground up to "get stuff done" quickly and efficiently. Focused on quality, using best practice cloud native approach and best of breed tooling. This is a dynamic and exciting transformational activity  delivering significant business value to UKTV aligned with key business objectives.

An exciting opportunity to join the team, to make a significant contribution to the successful launch of the platform later this year. Then grow your knowledge and expertise, as the solution is expanded to deliver a complete digital supply chain providing full cloud playout.

Work with UKTV Ci/CD code pipeline, automated testing, monitoring, analytics and reporting.

Maintaining and optimising UKTV production systems supporting the delivery of content driving all UKTV VoD and linear playout.

You will be a key member of the support team, your work will directly impact the quality, efficiency and cost-effective delivery of the solutions UKTV depend on for core business activities.

We are looking for someone who has..

IaC - Terraform/Cloud Formation/Puppet/Chef etc...

Knowledge of cloud platforms (specifically AWS)

Experience managing AWS networks

Strong scripting skills (e.g. Bash, Python, Ruby, Perl, etc.)

Experience managing distributed systems (microservice/serverless/etc)

Ci/CD for distributed/micro service architecture
