The Challenge

This is an exciting opportunity to heavily influence decisions made by Defence in the management of the estate by delivering evidence-based options through the application of advanced analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

The Analytics team leads on the delivery and oversight of bespoke analytical projects for customers in DIO. As well as delivering projects, the team is developing a central role; providing guidance, support and oversight to analysts and colleagues across DIO and Defence.

Who are we looking for?

The overarching objective of this role is to support evidence-based decision making in DIO and promote analytical standards.

This may include:

Deliver bespoke analytical and geospatial projects; investigating DIO's data with advanced analytics techniques to answer customer questions.

Support the creation and development of National Statistics

Contribute to the development of DIO's advanced analytics, geospatial and data science capability.

Build links with the government analytical professions and contribute to the MOD Data Science Action Plan.

As a member of DA&I's (Data, Analytics & Insight) Analytics Team there will be many opportunities to be involved in a wider spectrum of analytical projects including statistics, descriptive analytics, operational research and geospatial analytics.

The role will include line management of an individual post however there will be many additional opportunities to engage in wider management and leadership activities. Membership of the Governments Social Research Service (GSR), Statistical Service (GSS), Operational Research Service (GORS) or other analytical professions will be supported.
