FTSE250 Global Organisation - Workshop Supervisor - 35-40kMAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE: To supervise and co-ordinate Vehicle technicians, providing service and repair facilities to the vehicle fleet. Ensuring that the service is delivered in a safe, cost effective and technically compliant manner to the standards required by various legal and safety requirements.KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Plan, schedule and progress work to ensure optimised use of labour and cost effective use of materials and equipment.Minimise downtime of vehicles maintained, observing and minimising penalties associated with vehicle availability.To manage staff, as required, dealing with personnel, discipline and industrial relations. To manage their training and development needs to enable them to meet skills levels required to achieve individual goals and provide a cost efficient service.Build effective relationships with colleagues, ensuring workforce morale and productivity is maintained at all times.Ensure computer systems are updated and maintained accurately, and vehicle statuses are maintained at all times.To authorise repairs and parts as required, and to ensure costing and monitoring of job cards/invoices, including correct labour allocation and procedures are followed.Provide technical and diagnostic support to colleagues where requiredKeep up to date with technical and manufacturer/industry information, and communicate relevant information to technicians and supporting staffTo record information accurately to ensure integrity of technician KPI's, overtime, timekeeping, absence, sickness and productivity records.To manage resources to support and effectively deliver customer service agreementTo organise throughput to avoid risk to penalty KPI'sTo communicate and collaborate with the Contact Centre to ensure smooth delivery of all customer requirements.To ensure that the workshop is maintained in a safe and clean manner in accordance with requirements.To be aware of the application of COSHH regulations, which includes the disposal of waste and the storage and issues of substances, as stated within the company's procedures.Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed and adhered to in accordance with Company requirements and regulations in force.To participate in training courses required from time to timeTo carry out team briefs to colleagues as required.To work within established Company policies and procedures.Promote company values and standards and exhibit appropriate behaviour in accordance with Company ethos.Use talent and ability to encourage achievement and continuous improvement.To demonstrate safety, integrity & commitment at all times.Maintain excellent levels of communication throughout the team and the wider business.To deputise as Workshop Supervisor or Manager as directedTo carry out any other duties as and when necessary to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy customer needs. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSFlexible, Proactive, Team PlayerPride taken in the completion and presentation of completed repairsComputer literate.Full driving licenceAbility to organise and prioritise work under pressureGood level of industry knowledge / awarenessGood understanding and working knowledge of diagnostic equipment.Proven experience in a Motor Vehicle technician role, with at least 5 years' experience gained as a fully qualified technician.Experience of meeting demanding targets and deadlines.B/TEC, ONC, City & Guilds or equivalent in Motor Vehicle Engineering.Working effectively with internal and external stakeholders.If you fee you have the necessary skills and experience we would love to hear from you.
