We are the US Embassy London. Together with the US Consulates General in Edinburgh and Belfast, we represent the government of the United States in the UK.

At the hub of the Embassy is our dedicated Desktop Application and Development team (DAC), who are part of the Information Resource Management (IRM) team. As our Application Developer, you will provide a first-class support service for our Embassy team comprising over 1,000 employees who work for 44 different US Government agencies - the clients.

IRM is searching for a technical specialist whose portfolio will cover tier two and three troubleshooting, application development, application support and database administration. This is a truly hands-on and varied role; you will need to adapt to multiple and changing priorities, quickly, professionally and most importantly, with a sense of humour.

Join the US Embassy London's IRM team.

Be part of the extraordinary, rather than the ordinary. You will be challenged on a regular basis - whether it's acting as the primary database designer, programming and developing new applications, developing software and supporting the Embassy's databases, maintaining the intranet to include web design, structure and optimisation of the intranet web server, or even providing support for VIP visits.

Be part of an award-winning team. Innovation is in our title for a reason and we're great at it. For the last six years running, the office has been home to the Mission's employee of the year award winners. Their exemplary performance has produced great value applications with low investment, maximising our effectiveness and resources; increased collaboration and participation in the innovation process leading towards faster and wider adoption of technologies, not only within the UK, but other embassies worldwide.

Make a difference. This hybrid career opportunity offers you the chance to directly contribute to US diplomacy in the UK. We want someone who is creative, passionate and genuinely intrigued by technological innovation; characterised by positivity and jargon-free language when it comes to interacting with clients.

Interested? Join us. Help make technical innovation part of diplomacy.
