Lead Java Developer London to £160k

Lead Java Developer / Technical Architect (JVM Cloud microservices) *Remote Interview WFH*. Technology driven FinTech is seeking a skilled Lead Java Developer; you'll remain hands-on and make a real impact on a company that is helping to revolutionise consumer banking through the use of advanced data centric, Cloud based technology and enjoying perks such as flexible working (WFH and currently remote interview process).

As a Lead Java Developer you will provide technical leadership and remain hands-on producing both detailed technical work and high level architectural design; you'll evangelise best practice and utilise your experience with cutting edge technologies and distributed, scalable systems to steer the technical direction of the team, defining team wide engineering best practices and mechanisms to measure the adoption of them.

The platform is built in Java on AWS infrastructure with AWS services and Open Source frameworks using LESS (Large Scale Scrum) methodology for delivery; you will have oversight and liaise directly with clients to drive architectural conversations and the company's leadership team to set aggressive goals and targets to help shape the longer term business strategy.

Driven by technology this company is able to conduct a remote interview / onboarding process and work from home during the current social distancing measures with flexibility moving forward (2-3 days a week WFH).

Requirements:

Indepth knowledge of core Java and Spring frameworks (SpringBoot, Spring Security)

Strong knowledge of AWS

Experience in helping leading development life cycle process, best practices and operating distributed cloud-based microservices; keen to take on a technical leadership role with experience of mentoring other engineers

Database experience e.g. SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL

Ideally you will have experience with Kafka, Hadoop, Spark or other Big Data streaming technologies

Familiar with DevOps environments / Containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes)

Experience of Continuous Integration e.g. SonarQube, Maven, Gradle and Jenkins

Advocate of Agile development methodologies, ideally familiar with LESS

Excellent communication skills; collaborative and personable yet able to push back and be assertive when required
