Would you be interested in developing professional audio products used by Sky and BBC?
I'm looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join an embedded software team based near Halifax with an exceptional knowledge of C++ in an embedded environment, and an understanding of networking i.e. TCP/IP.
You will be involved in all parts of the software life-cycle, from specification and design through to maintenance.
If you have any interest in professional audio, this role is perfect for you.
In light of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis, whilst interviews will continue, they will be operated remotely via video and the successful candidate will be on-boarded remotely where necessary.
Skills required
Excellent C++ 11 / 17 ideally in embedded environmentA good understanding of TCP/IP networkingNetwork troubleshootingA good understanding of hardware platforms and how s/w & f/w components work togetherOOD/OOPUnderstanding of Linux DriversDebugging to hardware level
The Role
Software Specification
You will work with Product managers and other engineers to create specifications for new software products.
Planning and Reporting
You will be required to provide estimates for development tasks and contribute towards planning of developments. You will also be required to report progress against schedules.
Software Design and Development
You will work closely with other developers in a cross-functional team. You will design and develop software to meet product requirements and ensure a high standard of quality and reliability. You will also work with product testers to identify and resolve defects.
Software Support
In this role, you will need to provide support to other R+D teams, production departments and customer support teams. This may require you to work off-site from time to time. Due to the nature of our business some out of hours work and weekend work may be necessary to meet the needs of our customers.
