This Northampton-based specialist Cyber Security company seeks an experienced technical systems engineer with a background in network support and server configuration to join the close-knit team. This role would also suit a University Graduate with a degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline.

The varied and exciting role will encompass the provision of support and maintenance of their product and service offerings to customers in addition to pre-sales demonstrations and the development of new capabilities.

Key duties will include the provision of onsite and remote support to their diverse customer base to help prevent and resolve technical issues and to enhance their services.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop world-class cyber security skills and full training will be given to help maximise their potential.

Based primarily from their office in Earls Barton (but with opportunities to travel to customer locations) the candidate will have the following skills and qualities:

- Solid experience of using Linux (including demonstrably competent use of the Linux command line) to carry out system configuration and networking tasks (Essential)

- A strong understanding of the TCP/IP communications protocol and Ethernet networking in general (Essential)

- Demonstrable competence with the Python scripting language and/or Java (Very desirable)

- Able to work in a team and independently (Essential)

- Current or willing to undertake UK Government Security Clearance (Very desirable)

- Experience of the Microsoft Windows server operating system (Desirable)

- Exposure to project management principles (Advantageous)

- Experience of network and/or security architecture principles (Advantageous)

The role is a full-time opportunity, working 09:00 to 17:00 (Monday to Friday) with a requirement for regular travel to London (expenses will be reimbursed), occasionally UK-wide and with the potential for training and customer visits overseas.
