Our client is currently recruiting for a vRealize Automation Engineer to join their team on a NATO project in Mons, Belgium.

The VMWare vRealize Principal Systems Administrator shall perform implementation, and configuration of virtualized and physical IT architectures supporting Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

* Participates as an infrastructure engineering representative on engineering teams for the development; implementation and/or integration of secure networking, computing, storage and virtualization environments.

* Participates as an infrastructure engineering representative on engineering teams for the development; implementation and/or integration of IT architectures; systems; or system components.

* Install, configure and manage VMware virtualization environment components (vSphere, vRealize Automation, vRealize Operations, and NSX).

* Ensure virtualization systems are compliant within required security standards

* Develop and maintain O&S Standard Operating Procedures for VMware virtualization environment

* Diagnoses and troubleshoots problems with the virtualization environment including Microsoft and Linux O/S

* Supports security planning; assessment; risk analysis; and risk management

* Develop server/system migration strategies and processes for virtualized and non-virtualized environments.

* Performs system or network designs that encompass multiple enclaves; to include those with differing data protection/classification requirements

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.

* Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems.

* Sets up administrator and service accounts.

* Maintains system documentation

* Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.

* Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.

* Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.

* May program in an administrative language.

* Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.

* Provides advice and training to end-users.

* Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

* Participates in special projects as required.

* Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

* 8-10 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis with an emphasis on infrastructure administration and support.

* VMware Certified Professional VCP5-DCV (Data Center Virtualization) or higher

* Microsoft Certified System Administrator (MCSA) Windows Server 2008 or higher

Technical Skills

* Demonstrated experience with VMware vSphere products and technologies.

* Demonstrated experience with VMware vRealize Automation and Operations products and technologies.

* Demonstrated experience with VMware NSX products and technologies.

* Demonstrated experience creating and implementing workflows and blueprints for use with a VMware vRA solution (vRA, Orchestrator)

* Demonstrated understanding of server virtualization concepts.

* Prior experience deploying blade and rack mounted server product sets.

* Demonstrated understanding of block and file-based storage system concepts.

* Prior experience with storage-area-network based replication products and technologies.

* Prior experience deploying backup and recovery products.

* Demonstrated understanding of layer 2/3 networking technologies and concepts.

* Demonstrated understanding of storage-area-network products and technologies.

* Demonstrated understanding of backup, recovery
