As an important member RPS's embedded team, we are seeking a number of Senior Policy Consultants to work on a crucial COVID-19 Response programme within one the UK Governments most influential departments. The core deliverables will focus around a number of operational and strategic policy changes affecting the most vulnerable in society. This programme (albeit new) is in in flight and so our consultants will be expected to hit the ground running to aid the delivery of this piece. The Senior Policy Consultants will be working closely with key stakeholders (Senior Civil Servants & Government Ministers) across a number of Central Government departments, achieving excellence in policy and strategy change and implementation. To be considered, please have the following in regard to: Experience: Demonstrable experience working within a Central Government body, focussing on policy drafting, documentation, collaboration and implementation. Have a proven track record of interpreting large data sets and applying critical reviews to existing policy documentation alongside taking informed decisions on new policy creation - communicating this professionally to senior management level. Skills: Having excellent verbal / written communications skills and more importantly the gravitas to liase with senior officials - this is crucial! You must have the demonstratable ability to work through complex policy positions at pace and produce informed clear advice under pressure. Be comfortable operating in a 'live' situation where events rapidly shape policy requirements and outcomes and demonstrate the ability to lead and drive forward work independently with limited oversight. Characteristics: We are looking for a compelling and considered influencer. We need someone with a consultative and approachable demeanour, who can influence and educate, and will enable the current team to deliver to the best of its ability. The role will be based remotely, initially, and will transition to being full time onsite based in Central London.
