Job DescriptionWe are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, with extensive and wide-ranging experience working with several technologies, from top to bottom in the architectural stack, and with an understanding of how their work will affect technical operations. Knowledge of how to develop, deploy and manage both cloud-based (AWS for now but expanding to other providers) and on-premises environments. Very clear understanding of backend architecture, particularly working with growing data models, and an ability to communicate architecture and design clearly to those (including yourself) that have to implement it.

Role & ResponsibilitiesExperience mentoring and guiding more junior engineers at a technical level and helping them focus on what is important.No specific technology is as important as your generalist learning and development skills, but we use React, Java 11, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Debian Linux and CFEngine. Experience in a distributed systems environment where frequent disconnections and unreliable infrastructure can be the norm.

Skills & QualificationsExperience with HTML, CSS and JavaScript.Experience with any version of Java, and functional programming in some other way.Knowledge of how to administer a Linux system, especially a server.
