Our client is fast growing RWE/RWD research company dedicated to working with life sciences clients to assist them to develop products, enable market access and design studies via real world evidence research projects. They have ambitious plans to grow in 2020 and require a Head of Research to lead their Real Word Data projects and be the go to for statistcal analysis and research questions. The Head of Research is a business-critical role which sits inside the Delivery Team. The role has a wide-reaching remit including setting standards and best practice on data usage, owns and manages data applications whilst also owning data quality whilst conducting research and studies.The role includes delivery and deployment of research projects, healthcare-related software for clients and other products and services for the improvement of healthcare and access to medicines.The post holder will be part of the Management Team and will play a key part in the both the business operations and strategic decision making.ResponsibilitiesThe Head of Research will design and implement studies on healthcare data (e.g. Hospital Episode Statistics - HES, Clinical Practice Research Datalink data, Public Health England datasets - CPRD, PHE) including study methodology, statistical methods, machine learning techniques etc.Attend client meetings, scope research projects, including instructions, specifications, codes and other research requirements, thus translating the client need to a scoping document for the Delivery Team with clear deliverablesOwn and develop relationships with clients, working with them to optimise and enhance solutionsAll other duties can be discussed.RoleAs Head of Research you will have previous experience in healthcare Analysis and researchKnowledge of administrative healthcare datasetsKnowledge in designing and executing research projects or creating technology and software in healthcare is desirableKnowledge of statistical methodologies and study designExposure data access applicationsWriting SQL queriesUse of Microsoft Excelknowledge of using statistical techniques, especially in Microsoft Excel and other software such as R or PythonStakeholder engagement and client interfacing, particularly senior and experienced members of client organisations versed in healthcare research, statistics, data science, health economics, and/or market accessValidating the output of a project, especially methodology, code and scripts, as well as resultsLine managing a team, setting objectives, performance management, developing individuals and increasing overall team capability would be desirable although more junior candidates will be seriously considered and developedVendor/partner ownership and management DesirableHealthcare, epidemiology, public health, clinical trials or health data related fields.working with clients in the pharmaceutical or medical device industry etc.health economics, health technology assessmentAgile methodology and Business Transformation skills (Six Sigma, Lean processes)Machine Learning TechniquesData visualisation techniques and tools (e.g. Sankey diagrams, Forest plots)Evidence of publications in peer-reviewed journals and previous presentations in scientific congresses and conferencesIdeally PHD qualified and published or equivalent work experience To find out more about Real please visit www.realstaffing.comReal Staffing, a trading division of SThree Partnership LLP is acting as an Employment Agency in relation to this vacancy| Registered office | 1st Floor, 75 King William Street, London, EC4N 7BE, United Kingdom | Partnership Number | OC387148 England and Wales
