VP of Engineering (IoT Node.js Ruby API Go). One of the largest data streaming companies in the world is seeking a stand out individual to empower a team responsible for their core services, including infrastructure that is shaping the future of the internet.

In this VP of Engineering role, you'll collaborate with the CTO in designing and architecting the infrastructure, services and client software, working closely with the Heads of Product and Developer Relations to formulate a technology roadmap - where you will take ownership of all aspects of the delivery of the core service.

You'll play a critical role in building, leading and developing the engineering team, where you'll call upon your depth of technical experience to lead by example; defining and promoting the application of the development processes and all supporting resources and infrastructure, to ensure the highest quality output possible.

This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where you'll have critical involvement in the direction and strategy of the growing technology space at this pioneering technology company.

Requirements:

You have recent, deep and relevant technical experience with distributed, fault-tolerant systems, cloud native architectures, infrastructure and real-time technology

You're highly proficient in dynamic and statically typed languages (ideally with Go, Node.js, Elixir / Ruby)

You are a positive, impactful leader and have proven experience building and managing high-performance teams

You're degree educated (2.1 or above, BSc / MSc / PhD) from a reputable university

You're a passionate technologist who has a track record of technical innovation and process-based execution

Desirable: you're an active open source contributor
