Contract Role: Test Engineer

Location: Southampton

Duration: 6 Months Initially (Inside of IR35)

The project is building a leading-edge, Azure based Platform that provides Data Discovery, Access and Manipulation of vast quantities of data within a Big Data, Spark Environment.

The successful candidate will be required to:

*Write and execute Functional tests for each iteration

*Automate tests for iterations where appropriate

*Document and display test coverage

*Use appropriate tools to execute non-functional testing (if appropriate)

Working within an agile team, the test engineer will be responsible for designing, writing and executing manual and automated test suites to ensure adequate and effective test coverage and provide test assurance of the user stories according to the defined acceptance test criteria.

This is a technical role and requires knowledge of data testing, performance and load test.

They will be working with a wide variety of techniques and technologies, such as Azure Cloud Services, Azure DevOps, Databricks, Big Data and Machine Learning concepts.

Technologies:

*Proven technical skills in C# and/or Python

*Knowledge or experience of machine learning or big data practices

*Awareness of geospatial systems and technologies is desirable

*Qualified to Foundation Level in Software Testing (or equivalent)

*Experience of working with Azure DevOps is desirable

*Experience of testing on a cloud platform is desirable

*Experience of testing using Databricks is desirable
