Lead Digital Technologist Tempest

Would you like to shape the Digital Technology landscape that will enable the creation, support and operation of the future Combat Air System being created by BAE Systems in collaboration with UK and International partners? We currently have a vacancy for a Lead Digital Technologist Tempest at our site in Warton.

As a Lead Digital Technologist Tempest, you will be sharing how the programme understands and exploits digital technologies such as AI, IoT, process automation, micro services, big data, bots, hybrid cloud and containerisation, to create world leading capabilities in design / manufacture and support operations.

The Successful candidate will draw upon their experience in a Senior technology innovation or enterprise architecture role in a digital business in a related industry or as a consultant working in the same capacity

Your main responsibilities as a Lead Digital Technologist Tempest will involve:

Developing and Maintaining the FCAS digital technology Strategy, identifying opportunities and approaches that will support the project objectives, specifically but not limited to operational pace and efficiency, digital services and digital business model.

Acting as the Internal consultant for the Digital and Information elements across the Tempest programme, including engaging with the appropriate teams and Tempest partners to create the design of the future architecture and infrastructure for FCAS. Ensuring that the digital story is well articulated and demonstrated as an integral part of the overall Tempest Programme.

Contributing to the development and maintenance of the Digital Enterprise Models for the Air Extended Enterprise

Maintaining and Communicating the organisations defined strategy for digital managing information, ensuring that uniformly recognised and accepted data defines are developed and applied throughout the organisation. Models the processes and information required to support the organisation and devises corresponding data structures and architectures. Identifies the impact of any relevant statutory, internal or external regulations on the organisations use of information

Managing provision of specialist knowledge over a range of topics including the role of IT in the business; in own areas of expertise provides advice and guidance influencing the effectiveness of the organisations business processes

Maintaining and in-depth knowledge of specific technical specialisms and provides expert advice regarding their application. Can supervise specialist technical consultancy. The Specialism can be any aspect of information or communication technology, architecture, technique, method, product or application area

Your skills and qualifications:

Experience working with Digital Technology Exploitations

Experience in Artificial intelligence, machine learning digital platform, data science

Digital Platform technologies experience

General Software development skills

Agile and Cloud Computing Infrastructure
