Commutable from Cambridge and Bedford, this fantastic opportunity has become available for a Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer to join an exciting team focused on the research and development of HVDC and MMC topologies.  This role requires a strong background in power electronics and high-Power converter operation (1MW+), used in applications such as locomotive traction, motor drives and renewable energy. Other responsibilities of the Senior Power Electronics Engineer will include the design and development of Power Electronics building blocks / inverter stacks, running simulations in Matlab, Simulink and Plecs, perform worst case analysis, writing technical design reports and loss analyses.  The successful Senior Power Electronics Design Engineer will have a relevant degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering with a proven background in the following:HVDC.Modular Multilevel Converters (MMC).High voltage Power Electronics.IGBT’s / MOSFET’s.If you are a Senior Power Electronics Engineer that is interested, please apply with an up to date CV and contact details.
