As the Lead Visual Designer, you will take full creative ownership of producing first class designs that work across a variety of form factors, and will contribute to existing and new patterns in the Vanilla framework. From initial sketches to fine detailed artwork and technical delivery, you'll work within the existing brand as part of an accomplished, creative, talented team.

In this Lead Visual Designer role you'll go a step beyond showcasing your technical and creative abilities, with the opportunity to mentor and guide your own team in an Agile, iterative way. As the ‘go-to' senior member of the team, you'll play a key role in shaping strategic decisions, plan and prioritise team objectives, manage deliverables and support the development of members of your team.

The ideal candidate will successfully take a ‘bigger picture' approach to projects without losing sight of intricate details; a motivating mentor who earns the respect and trust of their team from their positive leadership approach.

Requirements:

You have a strong history of experience as a visual designer in a commercial environment

You're an expert with Vanilla JavaScript and have a good knowledge of other front end technologies including HTML and CSS

You are able to demonstrate the delivery of products across platforms that deliver on business KPIs and user needs

You have an in depth understanding of visual and interaction design principles

You're a positive, impactful and motivating leader and mentor

You're an active member of the design community who ensures the latest techniques are understood and implemented into the product development process

Desirable: experience of open-source projects, knowledge of cloud / enterprise technologies, AWS, Azure, GCP
