I am seeking a Linux System Administrator to work for my client who are a global company and leaders in the 4G Chipmaker sector providing single-mode LTE chipset solutions to wireless device manufacturers world-wide based in Paris.This is an opportunity for a Linux System Administrator who is an expert in Linux and will be responsible for keeping in the operational state, managing growth and streamlining their information system worldwide working in a small team.
Your role as a Linux System Administrator will be providing 24/7 coverage with a telephone on call system to provide this coverage and occasional trips to other offices worldwide would be expected too. You will be looking after 250 users globally with around 40/70 tickets to look after a week.
I am looking for an all-round Linux Engineer with basic experience working with Network and Security, physical and virtual Linux Systems, back up system, storage, messaging, web servers and engineering application. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of Windows (O365 and providing tier 1 and 2 support).
Responsibilities:
Management of development and Infrastructure consolidation projects.Level 1 to 3 support will be requested.Automation and Continuous improvement of process.Documentation of the information system and of the tools implemented.Technological Monitoring.Skills and Experience Required:
Expert knowledge with Linux systems and basic Windows experience.Knowledge in Networks (TCP/IP, Ethernet). VLAN 802.1Q and DHCP would be advantageous.Experience with services such as DNS (Bind), FTP, NFS, LDAP (OpenLDAP) and SambaDealt with security before with Firewalls and VPN.Proficient in Python Scripting.Speak English at intermediate level.The successful candidate will have flexible working and option to work from home. Furthermore, the opportunity to earn more by working additional hours such as out of hours and weekends on call.
