Job Purpose Summary This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic Applications Developer to join our Client development team as a senior level developer working in our European trading Department.  S/he will be responsible for a spectrum of assignments from working on new products, system and product enhancements, and systems architecture to bug fixes.  We are seeking skilled technologists who have strong technical skills as well as the leadership characteristics required to guide others from a technical perspective.  Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities This role is responsible for: This position will require that the candidate work together not only with other technologists but, over time, also with business colleagues in the development of the system.  We deliver four to six major releases a year which require occasional long hours and/or weekend hours; however, our employees often work from home when working these extended hours General Support Responsibilities Include: ·         Initiatives include development within the order entry/management system, product enhancements and new workflows for trading, and server-side programming and messaging ·         Perform above duties utilizing Oracle, Java, REACT, Swing, Ant, git, server-side and client-to-server technology, multi-threading, GUI screens and AWS cloud ·         Work with other technologists to design, develop and improve the critical trading system ·         Improve the scale and performance of the growing system ·         Be proactive and take initiative to think of new ideas to improve the existing system ·         Production support, including investigating and fixing production issues ·         Coordinate with business and the team on a daily basis ·         Present technical designs of work performed to the various groups (including Development, QA, Product owners and the business) Person Specification Knowledge/Experience8+ years of enterprise software development experienceExcellent core Java skills including data structures, Collection framework, GenericsEnterprise RDBMS (Oracle and SQL Server)AWS cloud experienceKnowledge of Web based front end (React and HTML/CSS)Excellent unit testing skillsExperience with high-speed, high-volume transactional systems    Good understanding of object-oriented design patternsExtensive experience in concurrency and multi-threaded programmingExperience in Agile Development  Preferred Technical Skills:Java 8+Web development using REACT, JavaScriptAWSJMSJDBCREST and Micro Services  Skills/Personal RequirementsBS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subjectStrong verbal and written communication skillsOrganizational and problem resolution skillsThe profile of a team-player who forms strong relationships with colleagues and has good interpersonal skills           Ability to deal with changing prioritiesComfortable being in a satellite office and helping incubate a new initiative  LanguagesEnglish command as a requisite
