AWS DevOps Architect

A consultancy require a Cloud AWS Architect to work for our end client within the financial industry, the role will be initially based remotely and will then be based in Manchester. The contract is initially 6 months with extensions available. Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

* Familiar with AWS services & strong understanding of Cloud concepts with practical hands-on experience on AWS Cloudformation

* AWS Cognito

* Exposure to AWS Cloudformation and IaaC

* Strong knowledge of key DevOps concepts - continuous integration and delivery

* Scripting experience (Bash, Python, etc.)

* Experience in Linux/Unix administration

* Experience in working with the Java Platform (Java Core, Maven/Gradle)

* Git / Stash

* Experience with configuring continuous integration tools such as Team City, Jenkins or equivalent

* Experience with automation/configuration management using Puppet, Chef or an equivalent technology

* Experience with agile methods and practices (Scrum, Kanban, Continuous Integration, Pair Programming, TDD)

Desirable Skills/Preferred Qualifications:

* Basic knowledge of networking protocols (HTTP, TLS, DNS,..) and load balancing thereof

* Experience integrating with code quality tools (SonarQube, Coveralls, etc)

* Knowledge of basic database administration with strong database design (NoSQL & RDBMS)

* Experience with Docker configuration

* Familiar with AWS RDS concepts and operations.

* Disciplined approach to testing, automated testing (JUnit), and quality assurance
