Real Time Recruitment Solutions https://www.rtrs.co.uk Senior Systems Design & Integration Engineer- Midlands - Up to £50,000 DOEI am working with a blue-chip automotive business and am currently looking for aSenior Systems Design & Integration Engineerto join the team on a permanent basis in their state of art offices based in the Midlands.Working as part of a small close-knit team providing system design & integration of complex automotive powertrain systems and energy storage devices.
Using simulation & analytical methods to develop an understanding of the system operations & failures to aid in the subsystem & component design process. Supporting the validation of the implemented systems & assisting in issue investigations & resolutions.
Personal Specification
• Experience of system validation using simulation tools (e.g. MIL/HIL) and test benches.
• Demonstrate good understanding of systems and software engineering development processes - for example; AutoSPICE.
• Good understanding of vehicle network architectures (CAN).
Desirable
• Good understanding of AutoSPICE development processes
• Good understanding of hybrid powertrains & architectures
• Experience of developing software for safety critical systems according to ISO26262
• Experience in using software calibration tools for example; INCA, CANape
Main Duties & Responsibilities
• Understand the inherent design trade-offs & arbitrate between different system owners.
• Develop in-depth understanding of powertrain system interactions with each other & with the vehicle systems.
• Identify and control all interfaces between systems.
• Develop & maintain the system level design architecture over the lifecycle of each project.
• Derive detailed subsystem requirements to meet the customer requirements.
• Support the development of design specifications for systems to ensure that the design meets requirements
• Support the development of system engineering processes & tools within the department
• Using simulation & analysis, validate the system operation & failures.
• Support the validation of the implemented systems & assist in issue investigations and resolutions.
