PostgreSQL Database Reliability Engineer - AWS, RDS, AuroraA key client of ours is currently seeking a Postgre SQL Database Reliability Engineer to join a mission critical project as soon as possible for an intial 6 months. Working with an innovate and industry leading organisation you will be responsible for managing, optimisation, automation and performance review for hundreds of PostgreSQL databases on Amazon RDS and Amazon Aurora, instance class upgrades, minor and major version database upgrades (9.6, 10.7, 11, 12), responsible for AWS RDS cost reduction and planning, close cooperation with AWS Support both on site and remote. Roles & Responsibilities- PostgresQL DBA: tuning PostgreSQL settings for best performance - memory allocation, global auto vacuum and auto analyze, slow query, temp files, vacuums and connections logging, composite and covering index review and advice, schema reviews - data types, duplicate indexes removal, close cooperation with developers.

- AWS Migration and Development: multi TB RDS to Aurora for PostgreSQL database migration planning and implementation.

- Linux Administration: Bash, python and AWS EC2 and RDS CLI integration on Centos 7, total automation of any database related management tasks to manage hundreds of RDS and Aurora for PostgreSQL database instances in parallel and standardised manner, integration with instant chat and continual monitoring.
