Our client, a leading energy trading company require an experienced Market Data Developer for an initial 6 month contract based in Swindon.

Objective / Purpose of role

Within the Market Data IT Solutions team you would be responsible for developing and supporting IT Solutions which will provide direct benefit to our business users.Analyse new business requirements, evaluate IT options and implement specialised software solutions, e.g. New data feed or features within the Market Data application suite

Competencies Required (technical skills, knowledge)

Profound knowledge in C# .net Core, experience in a version of AngularUnderstands database structures and knowledge of database languages (e.g. MS SQL)Would be beneficial to have knowledge of market data, the end-to-end trading-lifecycle and physical / financial products (commodity trading)Understands data modelling, data warehousing and/or testing methods and applies them independently

Additional Skills / Experience Required

Knowledge in Agile software development would be an advantage (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)Would be desirable to have knowledge on cloud related architectures, services and languagesPrevious experience working in VB6 would be beneficial but not essentialPassionate about writing clean, understandable and modular codeBeing able to speak English Fluently, German nice to have.
