Surveillance Data Analyst (Contractor Role)Location: ExeterDuration - 12 Months DescriptionThe Benchmark Surveillance Analyst role will report into the Surveillance and QA Manager.

The role presents an exciting opportunity to join a small but dynamic team working on the market surveillance of several high-profile benchmarks including the critical WMR 4pm FX Spot Benchmarks. Authorized by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a Benchmark Administrator, further benchmarks will come within the regulatory perimeter in 2019. As such, the successful applicant will be operating in a highly-regulated environment.Opportunities will exist to work on several levels including; daily BAU surveillance alert management, testing, reporting, working with 3rd party surveillance system providers and escalation management (Compliance, Operations teams and Benchmark Submitters). The successful applicant will need to demonstrate excellent analytical skills coupled with a sound knowledge of financial benchmarks. The role will demand the ability to be able to work both independently and as part of a team where required.Core Responsibilities :The Surveillance analyst will be required to ensure that the Benchmark Services (UK) Ltd meet regulatory requirements by carrying out appropriate surveillance of the benchmark determination process.Other key areas of responsibilities will be to;Work closely with colleagues in compliance and the individual benchmark business units to ensure that the firm is and remains compliant for Surveillance commitments;Investigate and close out daily alerts generated by the Surveillance tool in a timely manner;Manage surveillance escalations, building appropriate case profiles to assist compliance, operations and Benchmark submitters in understanding the underlying issues;Maintain Surveillance system configurations in a timely manner (e.g. Holiday tables, Tolerances);Assist in the design, implementation and testing of new/amended surveillance check scenarios;Produce stakeholder reporting (e.g. Dashboards); Key Relationships The candidate will be able to communicate effectively to the key stakeholders including Compliance, Operations and senior members of the Benchmark Services (UK) Ltd boards team. Skills and experience:Excellent Analytical skills (preferably with a background in Maths).Strong Excel skills.Experience of working in a regulated environment preferred but not essential.
