Development Team Leader , Digital Agency Birmingham!

My client based in Birmingham is looking to hire a Hands on Development Team lead to join their team as soon as possible

Based just outside of Birmingham city centre this is a fantastic opportunity to join a fantastic team delivering bespoke web sites and applications to a wide range of clients. My client is an established digital agency who was been going for close to 40 years and has over 65 staff!

This is a newly created role that will see you lead a team of 11 developers ( mix of both PHP and .net) taking ownership of the team, man managing them as well as acting as the subject matter expert on all things coding!

The role calls for a self motivated individual who is adept at managing their own time and projects as well as being able to take on leading a multi - disciplinary team of 11 developers (.net and php). The team is made up of 8 php developers and 3 .net developers and experience of coding in both, or at least one with an understanding of the other is highly desirable.

All the work completed is client facing and therefore often subject to tight deadlines, so meticulous approach is required, as well as the ability to engage with the clients on a face to face basis.

The role would suit a senior / lead developer who has worked in an agency environment and is used to taking the lead of projects. Qualifications are not important, but the ability to show a passion for development and sites you have build is vital.

Experienced needed for the role :

*HTML/XHTML, CSS and JavaScript/jQuery, PHP and Mysql coding experience is essential

*Experience working with the Laravel, Opencart and the Bootstrap framework will be an advantage

*Expierence working with API's is a key aspect of the role

*Experience leading a team of developers and being able to get the most out of them.

* Can take the lead on server maintenance and security and be the subject matter expert.

* Be able to engage with clients face to face and accurately quote projects

*Creates well-designed, secure, compliant reusable code.

*Understands browser specific compatibility issues.

*Enthusiasm for Internet technologies.

*Experience of domain and hosting management systems/practices.

*Lead a team both from a project and a man management perspective as well complete your own projects, staying hands on the coding side of things

*Any experience of .net and C# would also be highly beneficial

In return for your skills my client is looking to pay between £40000 and £50000 ( maybe more) depending on the experience you have. Benefits are excellent including up to 30 days annual leave, plus bank holidays, flexitime, performance related bonuses, perk boxes and much more!
