Huxley are currently recruiting for a key client based in Cardiff, they are looking for a Mechanical engineer to join them permanently on a 35-40K salary.Industry : Medical Devices / CAD : Solidworks / Spec : Full BelowMinimum Qualifications, Competences and Experience:Strong competence in designing electromechanical assemblies in Solid WorksExperience of designing to current methods of manufacture of small-scale metal and plastic components.Detailing to BS 8888 and geometrical tolerancing.Demonstrable structured problem-solving skills (8D, Kaizen, 6 Sigma, Kepner Tregoe etc.)Capability in Finite elemental analysis (FEA) to drive design preferredWorking knowledge of risk reduction techniques (e.g. DFMEA, fault tree analysis).Experience of structured product development within a controlled development environment (medical, aerospace etc.).Responsibilities of Position:Produce design sketches, concepts, drawings and CAD models that are accurate and describe fully the design intent.Conduct tolerance and /or other analysis or calculation to ensure functionality, safety and ability to manufacture.Preparation of formal finalised components and assembly drawings along with corresponding BoMs.Work with the Project Lead and design team to ensure that designs are robust, and that risk is reduced as far as possible via FMEA and testing as appropriate.Working to internationally approved standards e.g. (BS EN 13485, 62366, 11607, 10993, 60601, 60601-2-2) and providing rationales and reports to demonstrate this.Planning, designing and executing technical feasibility, verification and validation tests.If interested in the above role please submit your most recent CV and we will be in touch if suited to discuss in more detail.
