At HCA Healthcare, the Digital team is currently responsible for the management and evolution of HCA's various online touchpoints, which are undergoing major changes as part of a wider digital transformation. This includes working with a wide range of external agencies, HCA's internal IT team and a diverse set of stakeholders across hospitals, regulatory compliance teams, sales and marketing and corporate functions.  

Job Description

As the Technical Architect you will have practical experience in agile software development principles, you will work with a growing in-house digital team to deliver on HCA's vision.

The role includes both technical leadership, and practical, hands-on development, working across both backend infrastructure (Azure PaaS, Sitecore, AWS, DNS/Domain management etc) and frontend web services. Determining best practices, including elements such as code branching strategies, automated testing principles and code checking will a be a key part of this role.

You will work with content production, internal and external engineering teams and a variety of business stakeholders to ensure that when delivered, the final quality of the development team's output meets the highest standards.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a technical lead, senior software engineer or technical architect, focused primarily on web development
  • Previous line management experience of a small team
  • Experience of working with responsive/adaptive multi-platform websites (mobile/tablet/desktop)
  • Able to communicate complex technical architecture needs to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio Team Services (TFS) / Azure Devops or similar task management and deployment tools.
  • Experience in .Net development, Javascript / Vue.js / JQuery, HTML, CSS, SASS and Unit testing and test-driven development
