Job Description The Cloud Security Engineer is responsible for ensuring the implementation of security toolsets enable and supports the business needs, meets security best practice and compliance requirements as the company moves to utilise cloud services. Duties & Responsibilities Provide security engineering for an evolving environment; support project efforts as well as incident responses and provide root cause analysis support for incidents. Maintaining security solutions including proper operation, patch upgrades and vendor management Providing engineering oversight and direction for specific cloud security controls and technologies Reviewing existing toolsets, identify operational gaps, and recommends security enhancements. Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of security enhancement and development efforts; recommend security improvements, upgrades, and/or purchases. Review existing controls sets and risks; develop value propositions on enhancing security posture bases on enterprise risks Skills & Experience Have a strong IT / Systems and Networking background within Cloud Environments. Exceptional analytical/critical thinking abilities - must be able to analyze proposed technological solutions. Hands-on technical abilities: Strong network and systems knowledge; particularly focusing on security; OS (Windows and linux), VMWare, endpoint and midrange, as well as development or scripting knowledge (e.g., Python, PowerShell). Functional knowledge of TCP/IP protocol suite, LAN/WAN technologies, switching, routing, VoIP and telephony technologies, firewalls and VPN, intrusion prevention systems (IPS), vulnerability assessment and patch management tools
