Software Development Engineer
Would you like to be exposed to the full software life-cycle, from software requirements analysis through to system testing and installation, and have the opportunity for UK and International travel? We currently have a vacancy for a Software Development Engineer at our site in Brough.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will be liaising with systems/ software engineers within aircrew training team, liaising directly with end users during installation/ commissioning role includes on-base work.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to be involved with development of current and future leading-edge technologies that will be used in real life applications.
Your main responsibilities as a Software Development Engineer will involve:
Working effectively as a team member within a team of engineers to design, develop, test, document, configure and deliver software
Developing all products to agreed standards and procedures using the specified tools, and maintaining acceptable product quality during development
Testing products sufficiently to ensure minimal or no re-work is required due to incorrect implementation
Investigating and resolving problems raised during any stage of the development lifecycle, including integration, qualification, system and flight testing
Communicating effectively, identifying early potential risks, seeking clarification and providing feedback to the team leader
Participating in continuous process improvement including identification of need for new procedures
Your skills and qualifications:
What we're looking for in you:
You will have good maths skills and a willingness to tackle difficult problems with a steep learning curve. You will have a willingness to adapt to a fast-changing environment and the ability to analyse and solve complex technical problems. You will have the ability to communicate complex ideas and solutions to software and non-software engineers and be able to learn new skills quickly and apply them with minimal input from a team leader. You will be experienced in participation in continuous process improvement.
