Software Engineer / Backend Developer. Are you a passionate technologist, looking to work with other likeminded people in a supportive environment with training allowance, 10% personal development time and flexible working (2 days a week a home if desired)?

As a Software Engineer at this pioneering search technology start-up you will build features across the ecosystem of products and services, both internal and client facing. You will work with other engineers to remove pain points, optimise workflows and enhance the intelligence and capabilities of the system, taking technical ownership and working across the full development lifecycle, seeing the impact of your work immediately. You'll work with a variety of languages and technologies (predominately Ruby, Kotlin and AWS) and will be able to impact choices, there's a lot of new Greenfield development projects as well as optimisation and scalability work.

You'll be based in modern open plan City offices with casual dress code and friendly, informal atmosphere; you'll be working with colleagues from bright, motived graduates through to industry leading professionals from companies such as Google and Amazon.

Requirements:

Ability to write code in a high level programming language such as Java, Ruby, Python - happy to use Ruby primarily moving forward

Experience of taking technical ownership of a specific application, product or infrastructure

Keen to work with new and emerging technology such as Kotlin on AWS

Collaborative nature, keen to learn and share knowledge with others

Business acumen / entrepreneurial
