A Big Data Analyst is required by global organisation in either in their Farnborough or Malvern offices.

As the Big Data Analyst, you will be working across a number of projects in the areas of Big Data, Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing for Security, Defence and Commercial customers. You will drive the teams' goal of maintaining and developing a leading-edge Data Analytics capability to support projects across the whole company.

Essential Skills for the Big Data Analyst:Hold or be eligible for SC clearance and willing to gain DV clearance

· Proven track record of delivery of data-intensive projects over 5 years

· Skilled in at least one of the following:Python, Java, Matlab, SQL, C++, Javascript, Bash

· Experience (commercial or personal) of one or more of the following Big Data tools:ElasticSearch, Hadoop, Spark, Solr, Salt/Puppet/Ansible, Zookeeper, Accumulo, Kafka, MongoDB, Neo4J..

· Qualified to at least University Honours Degree or equivalentOperating systems include: Linux (various flavours) and Windows

Desirable Skills for the Big Data AnalystExperience of Agile or scaled Agile teams.Experience of data association and inference techniquesUse of virtualisation and Cloud technologiesSupervision of less experienced technical staff.Experience across the full product development lifecycle from requirements to user testing.More general engineering design and implementation processes.

Responsibilities for the Big Data Analyst:Technical Leadership of bids and projectsSupport formulation of strategy for Data AnalyticsSupporting the Business Development team to discuss solutions with customersGovernance, review of customer deliverables
