Job title: Programme Manager

Location: Sheffield

Salary: Up to £60,000 depending on experience

The Role:

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of projects at various stages of the project delivery lifecycle that impact multiple business areas; ensuring that competing priorities are effectively managed to result in successful delivery of the projects within agreed timescales, scope and budget.

You will manage the planning and designing programmes and projects, and proactively monitor their progress delivering projects within the agreed governance structure, timescales, scope and budget.

You will track, prioritise and resolve issues and manage risks throughout the delivery process and effectively budget and resource forecast to successfully manage each project.

Additionally, you will provide effective and timely reports to ensure stakeholders are kept up-to-date at all stages throughout the project lifecycle and lead a small team of project managers, business analysts and business product owners to ensure successful delivery of projects

You will have significant experience of delivering business transformation and technology change and have an understanding what good design, development and testing looks like to enable robust discussions with technology resources and suppliers on the project.

You will also have strong change management and leadership skills, and the ability to apply them to implement new systems and redesign work.

Experience of running senior stakeholder meetings e.g. Steering groups as well as workshops to facilitate an agreed decision/outcome is essential along with experience of commercial negotiations with suppliers to input into contracts for project delivery and experience of working in a complex corporate culture or rapidly growing business.

Key Skills:

Ability to engage in open, honest conversations with members of the Senior Management Team when discussing project performance, risks and issues.

Be able to balance task orientation focus on delivery of the plan, but not to the exclusion of all else, be able to influence the people that work with you on a project.

Must be able to balance ‘doing it themselves' with delegation and work with their teams to get the job done.

Good Microsoft office skills are a must including PowerPoint, Excel and Project, the individual must be able to craft excellent presentations to the audience.

Excellent MS project planning skills is essential.

High level of self-awareness of capabilities, strengths, and developments areas.

A background in financial services is desirable. Relevant qualifications such as PRINCE2, APMP, PMI, MSP
