Due to further expansion, this award-winning systems vendor seeks an experienced IT / Telco engineer to join their growing professional services team. Work is varied but centres on the installation and implementation of Microsoft Servers and telecommunications / Unified Communications; typically with enterprise size clients.

IT / telecoms Project Support Engineer - The role:

This is mostly an office-based position but will see you deploying systems on UK client sites (typically one or two visits per week), plus remote configuration and general projects / professional service duties.

You will be working alongside other internal and external teams - e.g. client support, engineering, and your technical counterparts client-side, and third party vendors.

Go-live support for implementations, together with associated documentation work

IT / telecoms Project Support Engineer - The person:

Personality is key to this role - candidates need to have very strong customer interaction skills, a personable nature, and plenty of integrity.

On the technical side, candidates must have come from a similar 'IT / telco / technical client or user' technical consultancy role, with strong Windows server exposure. Experience in at least one of the areas below preferred: -

- MS Server-based networking - infrastructure installation, configuration and support

- Physical and cloud-based server work

- Applications support

- Telephony / UC (Unified Communications) installation and/or support

- Database and SQL server

The learning curve for the product set is lengthy (18-24mths) to become competent across the various platforms, so this role will be attractive to people who really wish to develop themselves across the technologies listed above.

Travel is fully reimbursed and a monthly travel allowance is given, together with company credit card, but candidates must have their own transport.
