My Client a Leading Energy Trading Company based in Sunbury Requires a Digital Ethics Lead Digital Ethics Lead The companies focal point for digital technology leadership and innovation is the Digital Innovation organization (DIO). The DIO provides fast and efficient application of emerging external digital technology innovation to group business and functions requirements. The DIO is focused on solving business problems outside of traditional IT solutions and leverages its vast ecosystem of external knowledge sources, including start-ups, venture capital firms, IT vendors, major corporations, research organizations, governments, military, academia and consultants. In addition, the DIO increases business awareness of operational and growth opportunities created by new technologies and works to enhance the companies external reputation regarding technology and business practices. The DIO works closely with the business to accelerate the efficient adoption of new technology and to initiate programs to deploy technologies at scale. DIO activities are focused on technologies that support IT&S business strategies, with a bias toward those technologies that have potential application across more than one segment or function. The primary measure of DIO's performance is the business adoption of new digital technologies. Although relatively small in size, the DIO is world class in reach, processes, activities and results; works with the very highest levels of external organizations and operates within the full context of external digital and business innovation as well as the companies Group and Segment strategy and tactics. It collaborates closely with other teams, the companies technology organizations and line businesses. DIO's current focus areas include cognitive computing - the most sophisticated form of artificial intelligence, advanced distributed ledger technologies (including blockchain) and robotics. ABOUT THE ROLE The company is embracing powerful digital technologies such as big data, artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and blockchain which have major potential to improve existing operations, plus help to power the low carbon transition that is underway. We want to be thoughtful about how to do this well, in order to deliver change in the right way and avoid negative unintended consequences. We are therefore developing an approach to "digital ethics" which will provide guiderails for technical teams and the business in the development, procurement and deployment of such innovative digital solutions. This role will be based in my clients Digital Innovation Organisation (DIO) which is a Group-wide resource exploring the frontier of new digital technologies, and which is leading the digital ethics activity. DIO is part of the group's Information Technology & Services (IT&S) function. The role will be responsible for creating a practical approach that harmonises with the companies existing Values and Behaviours, clearly communicates the importance of responsible innovation & design across the Group, and provides internal tools & methods that are easily understood and operationalized. It will also develop a governance framework that is fully co-ordinated with other relevant teams and processes (e.g. Digital Security, Ethics & Compliance, Risk). The overall objective is to create and embed an approach that moves "from principles to practice" and is self-sustaining at the end of the contractual term. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES This role will be required to                                                    Provide context on how cross-industry bodies are developing principles, frameworks and regulation in the field of digital ethics                                                    Lead the development of my clients own principles and practices, taking care that these are pragmatic, appropriate and scalable                                                    Identify gaps and opportunities in the current ways of working                                                    Prioritise activities into an 18 mth roadmap with milestones                                                    Co-ordinate resources to deliver on this roadmap                                                    Communicate the importance of digital ethics widely across the Group                                                    Enrol senior stakeholders in other teams (e.g. digital teams embedded in the business segments)                                                    Co-ordinate the development of training materials                                                    Report on progress within DIO, and more widely as needed The role will draw upon resources in DIO, IT&S and other teams as needed. It will report to a Technology Director in the DIO, and can be based in either US (Houston) or UK (Sunbury). Key Criteria                                                    Bachelor's Degree in IT, sciences, mathematics or related equivalent                                                    5+ years' experience in digital project management                                                    5+ years' experience working in Ethics                                                    Agile & PMP certification                                                    A thorough understanding of innovative digital technologies and their implications                                                    A high level of drive & influence along with business acumen                                                    Ability to manage, lead and influence multiple stakeholders both internal (business and function) as well as external partners                                                    Aptitude to show fluidity, speed, initiative in unstructured context                                                    Demonstrate an unwavering demand for high impact on the organization                                                    Abel to function in a dynamic environment and make informed decisions as required to keep project on target                                                    Effective presentation and persuasion skills, ability to conduct effective meetings
