In this position you will be responsible for the delivery of Infrastructure designs and project consultancy to the rest of the organisation. To provide technical support to the engineering and operational teams. To provide technical consultation to the application teams. You'll also discover an inclusive culture and every opportunity for personal and professional development.  About the role The Infrastructure Design team is a small team responsible for ensuring design governance is maintained and providing designs for projects and engineering initiatives. The design team is a cross domain technical team within the infrastructure function and are responsible for the overall technical infrastructure delivery on both infrastructure led projects and application led projects.

The responsibilities of the team cover: Project consultancy Infrastructure Design Delivery Governance compliance Operational improvement Working closely with the engineering, support and architecture teams, this role will be required to support the delivery of both major and minor projects.

The role is also expected to drive standards, produce the appropriate level of documentation and occasionally be hands-on.

Core Technologies & Disciplines Enterprise Operating Systems VMware vSphere and related products HP Intel Hardware including HPE Blade technologies Microsoft Database Technologies Fundamental Windows Networking Scripting and Automation Monitoring and management Datacenter Management IT Security awareness GDPR awareness Automation Automation of infrastructure administrative activities or processes to reduce effort and improve reliability. Operational / Technical Best Practices Contributing best practices to the operational running of the infrastructure estate. Providing best practices input into the technical design process. Incident Resolution & Continuous Improvement Providing consultancy and expertise to the technical teams involved in the incident resolution process. About you We are looking for candidates will have robust experience within an IT design function, with experience across multiple infrastructure disciplines. The candidate will have experience with successful medium to large Infrastructure projects, and experience of relevant project management disciplines. The candidate will be able to demonstrate a depth of knowledge and practical experience in a number of the following areas: Windows Server Operating Systems (2000 - 2016) Unix / Linux Operating Systems (RHEL, AIX) VMware vSphere Microsoft SQL Server and related products HP 3Par Storage Products Cisco Networking Products Incident, Problem and Change management Datacentre Management IT Security controls Candidates will also require the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent Relevant vendor certifications desirable Benefits No matter what job you do you should feel valued and appreciated.  That's why we offer a competitive total reward package, which enables our employees to share in the success they help to create.
