IT Manager - Gateshead - (£50k + 20% bonus)The CompanyBased in the Team Valley and supplying customers in the UK and Northern Europe with a wide range of steel plates suitable for application in numerous industrial sectors. Employing 121 people in the £200m plus turnover business, they have achieved record breaking results in recent years. In the last 9 years our contacts have always been paid a good size bonus too.Duties and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the CEO, the IT Manager will manage all aspects on site and liaise with corporate colleagues and European offices to ensure high availability of all necessary systems and services. Must have excellent communication skills.The IT Manager will be required to resolve system and application issues and identify the root cause to provide a permanent fix. Management and maintenance of in-house databases and bespoke software utilities along with the ability to write some application and utility code is a requirement of the role.Managing and monitoring both Capital and Opex budgets, you will negotiate with third party suppliers to ensure continuity of support, along with strategic planning of upgrades and enhancements to existing infrastructure.Be adaptable, pragmatic and customer focussed.Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable. Technical RequirementsExperience with SQL Server or T-SQLWindows 7/10Virtualisation (Hyper-V ideally) and any experience of SAN storage.Windows Server 2012/2016.Windows Active Directory Desired Technical Experience Mitel Telephony (VOIP)SharePoint 2013Programming skills in C# and ASP.Net might be beneficial but most of this work will be done by a 3rd party - it's just preferable that you know how this ties in with wider IT processesAS400 knowledgeMS Integration Services experienceNetworking, IP Addressing, VLANSCisco LAN SwitchesProgramming skills in ASP.NETCloud based servers and Azure storage
