An exciting modernisation agenda. A new BI team.
Be at the heart of both. The challenge Often in the public eye, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is anevolving public corporation. Essentially, we're responsible for shaping and delivering the regulation of nuclear safety and security across the UK. To keep pace with a fast-moving nuclear industry, we're transforming through an exciting modernisation agenda. You'll be at the forefront, shaping a new business intelligence (BI) function to build the ONR of the future. The role Based within the Finance Directorate, you'll lead a small team of Business Analysis (BA) and Business Intelligence (BI) professionals to create an outstanding BI service. It's an opportunity not only to support our unique organisation but to drive change across ONR. You'll exploit a wealth of ONR data and provide dynamic, real-time reporting through the latest digital visualisation media. With accurate, up-to-the-minute information, our professionals can make the best decisions.  As well as inspiring your team to perform at their best, you'll be tackling hands-on analysis. You'll develop integrated management packs to publish in Power BI apps; work on month-end processes; and develop data governance protocols. You'll also be a point of contact for people across ONR. It's vital that you connect with colleagues in order to join up strategies and create the BI service they want. The person At this level, you'll need a blend of high-level BI and data analysis skills. These should be based on a Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis or a Foundation Level qualification in data analysis. Ideally, you'll also have an International Diploma in Business Analysis or a BCS Certificate in data analysis (or be willing to work towards this). In short, technical knowledge and experience (including Microsoft Power BI) will be key to your success. However, it's just as important that you have the drive and credibility to make change happen by inspiring trust and support. You will  influence, give expert advice whilst developing a value add service to ONR.  Collaboration across ONR is key to making this a success. The rewards We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £38,236- £46,009. Furthermore, you'll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you'll receive a generous holiday entitlement. About us ONR is a Public Corporation with a Mission to ensure the highest standards of safety and security across all of the UK's licensed nuclear sites. Our staff are drawn from a wider range of professional backgrounds in order to run a stand-alone business with specialist inspectors to deliver our core business including civil engineering, radiological protection, human factors, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and nuclear physics. And together they're involved in everything from assessing safety cases, inspecting nuclear sites, communicating our decisions, training new recruits and representing the UK and ONR within the wider International nuclear community.
