An exciting modernisation agenda. A new BI team.
Be at the heart of both. The challenge Often in the public eye, the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) is an evolving public corporation. Essentially, we're responsible for shaping and delivering the regulation of nuclear safety and security across the UK. Right now, we're creating a new Business Intelligence (BI) function that's set to transform the way we work. It's all part of an exciting modernisation agenda - and you can be at the forefront. The role Joining a small team of Business Analysis (BA) and Business Intelligence (BI) professionals based within our Finance Directorate, you'll not only to support our unique organisation but drive change across ONR. By exploiting a wealth of ONR data, you'll provide accurate insights for our professionals to help them make crucial decisions. You'll present up-to-the-minute information through dynamic, real-time reporting and the latest digital visualisation media. Day to day, you'll deliver BI services, mining data and presenting information from multiple sources. You could be developing management analysis packs one day, and producing month-end data the next. You'll also be tasked with major projects that could involve time recording systems or strategic workforce planning. As business demands change, so will your tasks and objectives.  Whatever the project, you'll be a source of advice and support, helping colleagues across ONR. Teamwork is part of the job and collaboration is essential. The person To join us, you'll need proven BI and data analysis skills. These should be based on a Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis or a Foundation Level qualification in data analysis. Ideally, you'll also have an International Diploma in Business Analysis or a BCS Certificate in data analysis (or be willing to work towards this). In short, technical knowledge and experience (covering Microsoft Power BI) will be key to your success. However, a gift for clear communication will be equally important. You'll know how to explain complex technical insights and enjoy building bonds with our friendly team. The rewards We offer competitive salaries at the ONR, with this role attracting a salary of £30,865- £36,019. Furthermore, you'll be eligible for a substantial Civil Service Pension scheme (including ill-health retirement and lump sum family benefits). Plus, you'll receive a generous holiday entitlement. About us ONR is a Public Corporation with a Mission to ensure the highest standards of safety and security across all of the UK's licensed nuclear sites. Our staff are drawn from a wider range of professional backgrounds in order to run a stand-alone business with specialist inspectors to deliver our core business including civil engineering, radiological protection, human factors, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering and nuclear physics. And together they're involved in everything from assessing safety cases, inspecting nuclear sites, communicating our decisions, training new recruits and representing the UK and ONR within the wider International nuclear community.
